How Margin Is Calculated

Margin is the collateral required to open and maintain leveraged positions. In MT5, the required margin is calculated dynamically using the instrument price and selected leverage.

Required Margin = (Volume in Lots × Contract Size × Asset Price) ÷ Leverage

Example: 1.0 lot of EUR/USD (100,000 EUR) at 1:1000 leverage requires approximately $108.74 in initial margin.
